Got it for Cheap (GIFC) is a traveling group show with more than 750 participating artists. All the works are roughly A4 sized and priced at 300 NOK each. The exhibition is one weekend only, and it's first come first served! No previews and no early admission.
GIFC is put on by the artists Charlie Roberts and Chris Rexroad. Where the idea is to create a democratic model where established, up-and-coming and unknown artists can show and sell alongside one another. The price is set at 300 NOK to make the works affordable to people who are normally not able to buy original works as well as encouraging the artists to make quick and loose drawings. The works that are not sold during the shows will revert to their market prices the following day. This is a one weekend only event, and you need to be on site.
All works will be arranged in stacks by artist on tables at the gallery to make it easy for visitors to shuffle through the artworks. There will be a big selection of Norwegian established and young artists available.
For the first time GIFC will host a bazar. We've invited artists to set up stands in the gallery and produce works of art, jewellery, cloths or something else. It can be whatever the artists desire as long as it costs 300 NOK.
Participants: Maria Passanau, HAiK, Maria Brinch, Inti, Vic Duffee +
Saturday 12.00 - 16.00
Since it's a weekend of firsts we've decided to do the new concept GIFC Ballers edition on Sunday. A 300 NOK drawing is amazing, and wouldn't you love to get a cheap painting or sculpture to go with that? We've got you covered with the ballers edition. We've invited artists to contribute with one work that will be sold for 6 000 NOK that day*. As with the drawings this is a one time offer and the works will go back to their original value the day after. You have to be there and you can only get one work.
Artists: Anders Dahl Monsen, Ann Cathrin November Høibo, Anna Daniell, Aurora Passero, Constance Tenvik, Drake Carr, Emanuel Rohss, Friendswithyou, Jorunn Hancke Øgstad, Marianne Hurum, Martin Schreiner, Nicolay Aamodt, Ragna Bley, Robin Danielson, Sebastian Helling
*All works over 2 000 NOK we have to add 5% art tax
